The Scientific Reference Guide is a technical document that provides the scientific content to support the analysis methods and component models within Source Catchments. The information in this guide provides information on: • How nodes, links, constituent generation, filtering and rainfall–runoff models work; • Descriptions of relevant scientific theory including equations and assumptions; and • Guidance on component model application to assist users to make informed decisions. Physical processes modelled in Source Catchments are rainfall–runoff, constituent generation, filters, routing and in-stream processes in links and nodes.

This User Guide provides: • information on operating Source Catchments, including specifying catchment geometry, selecting component models, running a project and viewing results; • an overview of broad catchment modelling concepts and the concepts underlying Source Catchments; and • information on data formats compatible with Source Catchments.
