E2 1.3.0 Release Notes (August 2006)
Improved: Additional raster layers or images can be dropped as a background onto the scenario forms.
Improved: Better Toolbar on graph windows
Improved: Results from the Map tool can be exported as a shape file, and displayed in a grid format
Improved: Saving projects is 10-30% faster due to performance improvements.
Improved: Several more minor usability and "look and feel" issues have been dealt with, e.g. some nodes appearing white on a white background.
Improved: Time series and other data types can be dragged from graphs, and copied onto the main form by holding the "Ctrl" key. The copied time series is then not affected by rerunning the scenario, and can be used for time series comparisons.
Added: The Riparian Particulate Model is now available as an optional plug-in
Added: Node, link and sub-catchment names can now be edited via a link under the Scenario menu
Added: Spatial data can be exported from the network definition step.
Added: The "observed flow" node model was lacking an appropriate form to configure it. Although it was not intended to be used directly, it can be. A form to input a time series has been added.
Fixed: In some circumstances the use of the Laurenson routing scheme could lead to time series of constituents in nodes and links to become what appeared as "empty" because they were not showing on a time series graph anymore.
Fixed: Some EMSS-related optional configuration tools were missing as plug-ins from the version 1.2.2
Fixed: E2 now releases and frees-up memory correctly. Previously, memory was not always reclaimed when it should be (e.g. when closing a scenario), and could lead to "out of memory" exceptions. This is arguably the most serious usability issue dealt with in this release.
New beta expiry date: 1 March, 2007
Known Issues
It is known that the Sacramento model is needed by some users. Due to some purely technical difficulties related to Sacramento being written in Fortran, it cannot be included as a plug-in in the main installer. It may however be provided as an optional download on this page if other delivery mechanisms can bypass these technical issues.
