What is MUSIC?

eWater’s urban stormwater software, music v4, is one of the few software tools available that can accurately simulate real-time water sensitive design, making it easier to design urban developments that meet Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) standards.

Workshop Outline

Day One - Getting to know MUSIC

‘Getting to know MUSIC’ will enable participants to apply the MUSIC software and understand the theory and assumptions behind the model. Users will learn how to simulate and evaluate the performance of stormwater treatment measures, either singly or in a treatment train.

Day Two - Intermediate MUSIC

‘Intermediate MUSIC’ builds on Day 1 of the course. It will enable participants gain a greater understanding of the theory behind MUSIC and its application to successfully model stormwater treatment. Users will also complete a series of tutorials on various stormwater treatment scenarios and
develop a model for a real urban development.

Water Sensitive Urban Design is discussed throughout the workshop. The topics are tailored to the learning requirements of attendees, and typically include highly interactive discussions. Real world WSUD example projects are described and discussed, as well as recommended procedures for the
planning and design of the most appropriate WSUD strategies for site conditions and constraints.

Why you should attend

  • Learn how simulating the performance of stormwater quality improvement measures can help in urban water management
  • Determine whether proposed systems can meet specified water quality guidelines and objectives.
  • Save time in developing the best design for your site, learn
    • More efficient ways to create your models
    • Techniques for designing your treatment train
    • Time saving tips and tricks
  • An opportunity to learn technical expertise from a leading WSUD practitioner
  • Network with other stormwater specialists, trade ideas and contact details
  • Put yourself at the forefront of the stormwater industry marketplace

What’s included?

  • Training materials containing: MUSIC v4 user manual (online and downloadable), Presentation notes, worked examples and “Getting to know MUSIC”
  • Meals (morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea)
  • The use of a computer and MUSIC v4 software for the duration of the course

Target audience
